Melbourne Engagement Photos – A Pre-Wedding Session for A & R
Warm, relaxed and city-meets-nature
A & R are tying the knot in Jakarta next year, and they wanted engagement photos in Melbourne that felt relaxed and true to them—clean lines, natural light and a little city-meets-nature. We kept things easy with a golden-hour wander, gentle prompts (never stiff posing) and time for two outfits so they could use the images for save-the-dates and their Jakarta wedding website.

The session (highlights)
Location 1 — Gardens at golden hour
We started among trees and soft light for a calmer set: walking frames, close portraits and a few playful moments to ease the nerves. Simple direction, lots of in-between candids.
Location 2 — City textures
As the sun lowered, we moved to another part of the garden. Think hand-in-hand movement, a lean-in on a sunlit twirl and a few editorial frames with negative space (great for invitations and banners).
A nod to Jakarta
We finished with a short sequence to honour what’s ahead—frames you can use for your Jakarta 2026 invites (date card held together, or a simple embrace with city lights behind).
Planning tips (especially helpful for interstate/international weddings)
Timing: Golden hour (the last 60–90 minutes of light) is the most flattering.
Outfits: Two looks: one relaxed, one elevated. Coordinate tones; avoid heavy logos.
