Nestled in the beautiful historic township of Buninyong on the outskirts of Ballarat, Leigh and Belinda chose the most personal and meaningful venue imaginable for their summer celebration - their own home. And what a home it was. A beautiful historic property with all the warmth, charm and character that no hired venue could ever replicate.

With around 50 of their closest family and friends gathered together, the ceremony took place on the most gorgeous sun drenched verandah - the kind of setting that feels completely timeless and utterly romantic. The summer light was absolutely beautiful, wrapping everything in that warm golden glow that makes every single photograph feel like a painting 🌅

From the moment I arrived it was clear this was going to be a very special day. Leigh and Belinda are the kind of couple who know exactly who they are - warm, fun, completely relaxed and utterly devoted to each other. There was no stiffness, no nerves about the camera and absolutely no trying to be something they are not.

What made this day even more meaningful for me personally was that this was not my first time capturing a milestone moment for this beautiful family. I had previously had the honour of photographing Belinda's daughter's wedding - and being invited back to capture Belinda's own special day felt like the most wonderful full circle moment 💕

Buninyong - A Hidden Gem Near Ballarat

If you have never visited Buninyong I cannot recommend it enough - particularly as a wedding location. This charming historic township sits just on the edge of Ballarat and has the most beautiful character, history and natural surroundings. The light in this part of regional Victoria is truly something special, particularly on a clear summer day, and the historic architecture provides the most stunning natural backdrop for photography.
