Mornington Peninsula Wedding Photographer

There's something about the Mornington Peninsula that just gets to you. Maybe it's the light — that soft, coastal glow you can't quite replicate anywhere else in Victoria. Maybe it's the way the vines meet the water, or the way a quiet country road suddenly opens up into something breathtaking. Whatever it is, I never get tired of being down here with a camera.

I'm Emma, and I've been photographing weddings across the Peninsula for years. My style is candid and romantic — I'm not the type to line everyone up and shout directions. I'd much rather hang back, stay present, and catch the moments that actually matter to you. The ones you'll still be talking about in twenty years.

Real moments, beautifully captured

Here's what a typical wedding day looks like with me: I show up, I blend in, and I pay attention. That's really it.

I'm looking for the in-between stuff — the way you squeeze each other's hands right before the ceremony starts, the burst of laughter during your speeches, the quiet moment you steal together after dinner when you finally get to breathe. Those are the images that end up as your favourites, and they only happen when no one feels like they're being watched.

The Mornington Peninsula makes that job a lot easier. The scenery is stunning without trying too hard, and the venues down here tend to attract couples who want their day to feel personal and relaxed — which is exactly the kind of wedding I love shooting.

Venues I know and love…

I've had the pleasure of photographing weddings at some genuinely beautiful spots across the Peninsula:

Dalywaters Rose Garden, Arthurs Seat — if you want romance, it doesn't get much more romantic than this. The roses, the light through the garden, the setting — it's one of those places that photographs beautifully without any effort at all.

Dromana Estate — vineyard views, warm afternoon light, and a setting that feels both elegant and relaxed. A brilliant venue for couples who want a bit of everything.

Sages Cottage — intimate, full of character, and genuinely charming. The gardens here are a dream for natural, unposed portraits.

Barn and Co — I love shooting at Barn and Co. The natural light inside the barn is something special, and the relaxed atmosphere means everyone loosens up quickly — which is when the best candid moments happen.

Booked somewhere else? Get in touch. I know the Peninsula well and I'm always happy to explore somewhere new.

Why couples keep choosing it…

The Mornington Peninsula is one of those rare places that genuinely suits everyone. It's close enough to Melbourne that the logistics are easy, but far enough that it feels like a proper escape. Your guests get a long weekend by the sea — which never hurts.

For photography, the variety is wonderful. You've got the bay, the ocean beaches, the wine country around Red Hill and Main Ridge, the hinterland bush, and beautiful towns like Sorrento and Blairgowrie. Whatever the time of day or the time of year, there's always something worth pointing a camera at.

What's included…

Every wedding I photograph on the Mornington Peninsula includes:

Full-day coverage from getting ready through to the reception A private online gallery of fully edited, high-resolution images Print release for everything in your gallery A calm, relaxed presence on the day — your guests will barely know I'm there Straightforward communication from your first enquiry to the day your photos arrive

I travel across Victoria with no extra charge, and the Peninsula is somewhere I know well — the venues, the light at different times of year, the best spots for a quiet portrait moment between courses.

A few things people often ask…

Do you travel to the Mornington Peninsula? All the time — it's one of my favourite regions to work in. No travel surcharge for Peninsula weddings.

How far ahead should we book? Most couples on the Peninsula book around 12–18 months out, especially for the busy spring and summer season. That said, if your date is sooner, it's always worth dropping me a line — I sometimes have gaps that aren't listed.

Can you help us choose a venue? Happy to. I've shot at a lot of places down here and I have honest thoughts about what suits different couples and different styles of day. If you want to talk through your options, just ask.

What happens if the weather turns? Honestly? Some of my favourite Peninsula images have come from moody skies and soft overcast light. We work with whatever the day brings, and it almost always turns out better than expected.
